Visit City Council at Hopkins Farmers Market August 7

Stop by the Hopkins Farmers Market this Saturday, August 7, to meet and visit with members of the Hopkins City Council. The market is open from 7:30 a.m. to noon and is located at 16 9th Avenue S in the parking lot behind Clock Tower Plaza. Learn more about the Hopkins Farmers Market here.


General Fall Recreation Registration Begins August 10

Registration for general fall recreation programs begins Tuesday, August 10, at 8 a.m., with registration for senior programs and ice skating lessons beginning Tuesday, 17, at 8 a.m. Visit minnetonkamn.gov/register to browse the program options and choose from an array of activities, including kids’ programs, tennis lessons, craft opportunities and athletic leagues. Register by calling 952-939-8203 (general programs), 952-939-8393 (senior programs), or 952-939-8310 (ice arena), between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, or online here.


Candidate Filing Period Ends August 10

The filing period to run for mayor or City Council member in the 2021 election closes
August 10. File in-person at City Hall between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., with extended hours until 5 p.m. on August 10. The City election will take place on Tuesday, November 2. Learn more about candidate filing here.


Final Sunset Series Concert is August 12

The final concert in this year's Sunset Series Thursday, August 12. R&B Horn Band Power of 10 will take the stage at 7 p.m. in Downtown Park. All Sunset Series concerts are free and open to the public. More information about the Sunset Series is available here.


Budget Engagement Session is August 16

The City is hosting a budget engagement session on Monday, August 16, from 6 to 7 p.m. Interested parties will be able to participate virtually or in-person at City Hall. More information, including virtual participation details, is available here. 


2021 Community Image Award Deadline is August 27

Do you know someone who has made significant improvements to their property in the past year? The City of Hopkins is seeking nominations for the 2021 Community Image Awards, which honor property owners and business owners whose pride shines through their property. Property improvements include landscaping, accessibility improvements, lighting, signs or exterior improvements. Learn more about the awards and submit a nomination here.
