325 Blake Road Project Kick-Off Event is Tonight

Join the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District for the 325 Blake Road project kick-off event on Friday, September 7, beginning at 6 p.m. at Cottageville Park, 435 Blake Road N. Meet project partners for the 325 Blake Road redevelopment, including Kraus-Anderson, the master developer selected for 325 Blake Road. The meet and greet will be part of Blake Road Corridor Collaborative's Movie in the Park series, so come meet the partners and stay for the movie! Family-friendly games and refreshments will also be provided. More information about the redevelopment project is available here.


Free Brush Pick-Up Begins September 24

The City will be picking up brush free of charge for residential garbage customers the same day as your garbage day the week of September 24. No call-in is required for the free pick-up. Learn more about brush pick-up requirements here.


Free Senior Health Fair is September 25

The Hopkins Activity Center's annual “Cruising Toward Healthy Living” free health fair is coming up on Tuesday, September 25, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Free health screenings will be offered for advanced care planning, body mass index, depression, along with information and resources from a host of vendors in the senior health care industry. Flu vaccinations will also be available from 1 to 3 p.m. (fee involved, no appointment needed).More information is available in a flyer here.


Bulk Item Drop-Off is September 28-29

Broken grill taking up space in the garage? Old microwave in the basement you need
to toss? The fall bulk drop-off event for City of Hopkins residential garbage customers is Friday, September 28, from 3 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, September 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For $20, plus taxes, you can drop off one appliance and up to three cubic yards worth of trash (the equivalent of one pick-up truck load). Additional appliances are $20, plus taxes, each. More information about the drop-off event is available here.
