Shady Oak Beach Now Open for the Season

Shady Oak Beach is now open for the season. Shady Oak Beach offers 76 feet of sandy beach shoreline and clear spring-fed waters, as well as great amenities including multi-age playground area, lifeguards, swimming, high dive, concessions, changing area, rentals for canoe, kayak, and stand-up paddle board, sand volleyball and free parking. The beach is open through July 31, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., (10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 4), and August 1 through 21, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., weather dependent. Find more information about Shady Oak Beach.

The Sunset Series Returns June 16

The Hopkins Center for the Arts, along with Mill City Sound, are excited to present the
2022 Sunset Series, which is set to begin Thursday, June 16, with Texas Toast. Enjoy the
free music series on Thursday evenings beginning at 7 p.m. in Downtown Park, 40 9th
Avenue S. Bring a chair and your friends, and enjoy music ranging from local favorites to

Hopkins Activity Center Open House is June 21

Whether you are an adult who is familiar with the Hopkins Activity Center’s programming, are new to area or are simply curious, you are invited to stop by for a visit on Tuesday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to noon, to see exciting program offerings and the building’s completed renovations. During the open house, attendees will be able to play board games, try Pickleball, meet volunteer leaders of Bike Club and Media Center, talk with group members of Men’s Shed, Rug Hooking and Garden Club, pick-up rental or travel information and more.
