About Us

The Hopkins Activity Center is a community facility with a gym, kitchen and meeting rooms used by residents for active or passive, large or small activities.

The Activity Center’s mission is to provide pathways to "Experience the Upside of Aging." It is a gathering place for mature adults to participate in recreational, social, educational, fitness and volunteer activities.

Activity Center Reopening June 21

With Governor Tim Walz's announcement ending the Mask Mandate on May 14, the Hopkins Activity Center will be preparing to reopen for senior programming and rentals on June 21. Until that time, the building will be closed for building maintenance and cleaning

Summer Activities

A new program management software, called ActiveNet, is scheduled to be implemented by the City’s Activity Center, Arts Center, and Pavilion departments on May 4. View the Summer (June-Aug) Calendar of activities and explore what else the City has to offer.

Senior Bicycling Club

Are you looking for some fun summer exercise where you can socialize and make new friends?

Join us for a weekly bike ride with a field trip destination on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer. Rides distances range from 13-30 miles at bike speeds of 10-12 mph with stops along the trail. We try to avoid most hills and prefer biking dedicated biking trails wherever possible.

Bicycling Club session runs from May 26 through the fall, weather permitting. Activity Fee $12, Members $10. Registration required.
