Volunteers Needed for Planting at
Native Landscaping Demonstration Garden 

The City of Hopkins is seeking volunteers to help with planting at the City’s new Native
Landscaping Demonstration Garden on Saturday, May 14, from 9 to 11 a.m., at Valley Park. The demonstration garden is part of a grant from the Nine Mile Creek Watershed District to show the environmental benefits of pollinator-friendly native landscaping. Learn more about the demonstration garden and sign-up to volunteer. 


Rain Barrels Available for Purchase

The City of Hopkins, in cooperation with the Recycling Association of Minnesota, is holding a rain barrel sale. The cost for a single rain barrel is $90 plus taxes, but Hopkins residents can receive a $20 discount by using the coupon code HOPKINS20. Quantities are limited. Rain barrels must be picked up on Monday, May 9, or Tuesday, May 10, between 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. To purchase a rain barrel, you must pre-order online.


City Hiring Public Works Seasonal Workers

The City of Hopkins is seeking seasonal workers in the Public Works department. Seasonal workers perform various types of manual labor and operate light equipment in the maintenance of City streets, parks and utilities. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., at $17-19/hour. Learn more about the position and apply online.


Provide Feedback on Curbside Organics Recycling

In order to improve outreach, education and behavior change about organics recycling in Hopkins, participants in the curbside organics recycling program are encouraged to provide feedback through a brief survey. Contact GreenCorps Member Pazey Yang with questions.
