Community Garden Plot Registration Begins April 6

Registration for community garden plots begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6, for Hopkins residents. Registration is on a first come, first served basis (limit two plots per household).

Residents must provide proof of residency and register in-person at Hopkins City Hall, 1010 First Street S. Be prepared for the weather conditions, as social distance requirements may mean lines will extend outdoors. Non-residents may register beginning Tuesday, April 13. Boards and Commissions Recruitment Happening Now

The City is still accepting applications for Boards and Commissions. The City of Hopkins has three volunteer boards or commissions to advise and assist the City Council on City policies, procedures, and operations. These commissions are comprised of volunteer residents and an appointed staff member as a liaison. Positions are open on Park Board, Charter Commission, and Planning and Zoning Commission. Two additional spots to the Park Board have been added, as well as the option to have a youth member serve
(age 14-18).

Rain Barrel Sales Happening Now

Spring is upon us, which brings the potential for lots of rain. Consider the purchase of a rain barrel this spring. Simply place the barrel around your home to catch chlorine-free water as it pours from your downspouts (water that would have otherwise made its way into storm sewers only to be wasted).
