[ARCHIVED] Annual Hydrant Flushing Delayed to April 23

Don't be alarmed if your water is discolored: Hopkins Public Works utility crews will be flushing fire hydrants throughout the community April 23 through May 4 between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. Residents are cautioned against doing laundry - particularly whites - while crews are in the neighborhood.

Hydrant Flushing Schedule:

  • April 23 to 27: All hydrants south of Excelsior Boulevard and west of Highway 169
  • April 30 to May 4: All hydrants east of Highway 169

If water is still discolored once crews leave, residents should run the cold water until it runs clear.
