Loud, unpleasant, raucous, or prolonged noise is a public nuisance. Between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., the City Code prohibits gatherings of people from which noise emanates of sufficient volume that it disturbs the peace and quiet, and can easily be heard at a distance of 50 feet from any residential dwelling.
Violation of the noise ordinance is a misdemeanor. See Hopkins City Code Chapter 28, Article III.
Under Hopkins City Code Chapter 6, Article II, Sec. 6-29, any dog making noise that unreasonably disturbs the peace and quiet of any person in the vicinity is considered a nuisance dog. This includes dogs that bark or whine repeatedly over a five-minute period of time.
