Nominations Open for 2019 Community Image Awards

The nomination period is open for the 2019 Community Image Awards. Community Image Awards recognize property owners and business owners who have made significant improvements to their property. Improvements include landscaping, accessibility improvements, lighting, signs, or exterior improvements. The award also honors those who have demonstrated continued, superior maintenance of their property. The nomination deadline is Friday, August 23. Reminder: Permit Required for Alcohol in Parks

Beer and wine in non-glass containers are allowed with a permit in Downtown, Central, Valley and Burnes parks. Alcohol use in all other City parks is strictly prohibited. Residents interested in obtaining an alcohol permit for a picnic shelter reservation should call 952-939-8390. Permits are $25 per day. For an alcohol permit not affiliated with a picnic shelter, call City Hall at 952-935-8474.

The Hopkins Police Department invites you to be part of National Night Out on Tuesday, August 6. Build community by starting in your own back (or front) yard. Your event doesn’t have to be elaborate—it can be as simple as lemonade and conversation with neighbors.
