Community Clean-Up With Hopkins Police is April 20

Join the Hopkins Police Department for a volunteer Community Clean-Up of 11th Avenue in Hopkins on Saturday, April 20, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Volunteers should meet at the police department parking lot at 1010 1st Street S and should come dressed appropriately. A pizza lunch will be provided. RSVP to Sergeant Glassberg at mglassberg@hopkinsmn.com


Opening of Brush and Yard Waste Drop-Off Site
Delayed to April 20

Due to weather, the opening of the free brush and yard waste drop-off site is delayed to Saturday, April 20. Hours of operation will be Mondays and Wednesdays from 2 to 7 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Only brush and yard waste generated by Hopkins residential garbage customers will be accepted. Driver’s licenses will be checked to verify eligibility. More information about the drop-off site is available here.


Free Yard Waste Pick-Up is April 22 to May 2

Yard waste will be collected for free on your regular garbage day from April 22–May 2. You do not need to call to schedule this pickup. Bagged yard waste should be placed at your normal collection site at least four feet away from your garbage and recycling containers. More information on yard waste pick-up is available here.


Bulk Item Drop-Off Event is April 26-27

Broken grill taking up space in the garage? Old microwave in the basement you need to
toss? The City's spring bulk drop-off event for City of Hopkins residential garbage customers is Friday, April 26, from 3 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Hopkins Public Works. For a $20 fee you can drop off one appliance and up to 3 cubic yards worth of trash (the equivalent of one pick-up truck load). Learn more about bulk item drop-off here.
