Artery Grand Opening is June 2

Join the City and the Hopkins community for the Artery Grand Opening on Saturday, June 2, from noon to 4 p.m., along 8th Avenue S from Excelsior Boulevard to Mainstreet. The event will feature live music, public art projects, lawn games, artist talks with artists who created pieces for the Artery, bikes from the Three Rivers Park District to test the new bike lanes, a bike repair station and more. A ribbon cutting with birthday cake will take place at noon to help celebrate Hopkins’ 125th birthday.

Attendees are encouraged to utilize public transportation, carpool, bike or walk to the grand opening, as parking will be limited. A bike corral will be available on-site for those who wish to secure their bikes. In the event of rain, the grand opening will be cancelled. More information is available here.


Artspace Market Survey Launch Event is June 7

Join the City of Hopkins for the Artspace Arts Market Survey Launch event on Thursday, June 7, from 5 to 6 p.m., at the Hopkins Center for the Arts. The market survey is the next step in bringing affordable working and living space for artists and arts organizations to downtown Hopkins. Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off is June 15-16

Drop off your household hazardous waste and problem materials at the Hennepin County collection event on Friday, June 15, and Saturday, June 16, from 9 a.m to
4 p.m., at St. Louis Park Middle School (2025 Texas Avenue S. — Enter off 22nd Street W). A complete list of other event dates and locations, as well as items that are accepted is available here.


Art from the Attic is June 16

Looking for an affordable way to beautify your home? Come to Art from the Attic on Mainstreet outside the Hopkins Center for the Arts on Saturday, June 16, between
10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and buy some wonderful pre-owned artwork sold by the Friends of Hopkins Center for the Arts. 100 percent of the proceeds will go to support art programs and activities for all ages at the Center. Learn more here
