Burnes Park Splash Pad Opens Today

The splash pad at Burnes Park opens for the season today, Friday, May 25. Contractors are finishing work on the Splash Pavilion building, which is scheduled to open May 26. Splash pad hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 9 p.m. There is no cost to residents or visitors to use the splash pad. Burnes Park is located at 301 2nd Street N. 


Artspace Market Survey Launch Event is June 7

Join the City of Hopkins for the Artspace Arts Market Survey Launch event on Thursday, June 7, from 5 to 6 p.m., at the Hopkins Center for the Arts. The market survey is the next step in bringing affordable working and living space for artists and arts organizations to downtown Hopkins. Shady Oak Beach Opens for Season June 8

Shady Oak Beach will open for the season on Friday, June 8. This 85-acre, fully recreational area offers 76' of sandy beach shoreline and clear spring-fed waters, as well as a multi-age playground area, lifeguards, swimming, high dive, concessions, changing area, rentals for canoe, kayak, and stand-up paddle board, sand volleyball, fishing and free parking. Hours of operation through July 31 are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The beach is located at 5200 Shady Oak Road in Minnetonka. More information about Shady Oak Beach is available here


Donate Old Artwork to Art from the Attic

Do you have old artwork gathering dust in your basement or attic? Donate it to Hopkins Center for the Arts to be resold at their Art from the Attic event coming up on Saturday. June 16.  Artwork can be dropped off at the Art Center on Tuesdays, May 29 and June 5, from 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturdays, June 2 and 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Learn more about Art from the Attic here.
