Mainstreet Day is May 19

Mainstreet Day Arts and Craft Fair, sponsored by JCI Hopkins, will be held on Saturday, May 19. The event is open to the public from 9 am to 4 pm. There will be entertainment for the entire family that includes train rides, a balloon twister, live music and more. More information about Mainstreet Day is available here


Kick-Off to Summer Safety is May 19

The annual Kick-Off to Summer Safety event sponsored by the Hopkins Police and Fire Departments in partnership with Hopkins/Minnetonka Park & Recreation and Minnesota Safe Kids Coalition will be held Saturday, May 19, from 10 a .m. to 1 p.m., at the Hopkins Fire Station, 101 17th Avenue S. This free, family-friendly event will feature water, bike, fire and internet safety tips, ice cream and prize giveaways, including bikes, locks, helmets, life jackets, car seats and more. Residents can also make an appointment to have child seats installed and inspected. Artery Grand Opening is June 2

The City of Hopkins and the Hopkins community are hosting a grand opening event to celebrate the Artery, the new bike, pedestrian and vehicle connection and community space on 8th Avenue S stretching from Excelsior Boulevard to Downtown Hopkins, on Saturday, June 2, from noon to 4 p.m. The event will feature live music, public art projects, lawn games, artist talks with artists who created pieces for the Artery, loaner bikes to test the new bike lanes, a bike repair station and more. A ribbon cutting with birthday cake will take place at noon to help celebrate Hopkins 125th birthday. Learn more about the grand opening event here
