Opening of Brush & Yard Waste Drop-Off
Site Delayed to April 21

The opening of the City of Hopkins Brush & Yard Waste Drop-Off Site has been delayed to Saturday, April 21, due to snow. The start date of the organics recycling pilot program is also delayed to April 21. More information about the drop off site is available here

Bulk Item Drop-Off is April 27 and 28

Broken grill taking up space in the garage? Old microwave in the basement you need to toss? The spring bulk item drop-off event for City of Hopkins residential garbage customers will be helf Friday, April 27, from 3 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For a $20 fee, you can drop off one appliance and up to three cubic yards worth of trash (the equivalent of one pick-up truck load). Additional appliances are $20 each. Learn more here


Register for May 15 Organics Recycling Tour

The City of Hopkins invites you to hop aboard the bus for a tour of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Organics Recycling Facility* on Tuesday, May 15, from 1:45 to 4:15 p.m. A tour guide will explain what happens to your organics recycling at the facility and answer your questions. Registration is required to attend this free event. Transportation is included and leaves from Hopkins Public Works. You must be 18 or older to attend. Help Plant Trees in Hopkins for Arbor Day

Celebrate Arbor Day with Hennepin County by planting trees along Excelsior Boulevard in Hopkins on Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering, contact Jen Kullgren at 612-596-1175. More information is available here
