BROWNBODY OFFERING FREE SKATING LESSONS AT HOPKINS PAVILION DECEMBER 10

Brownbody, a St. Paul-based non profit performing arts organization that blends dance, theater, social justice, and ice skating, will be leading introductory skating lessons at the Hopkins Pavilion December 10. Brownbody has a team of skilled Black and Brown skating instructors who will be teaching the lessons. There will be three lessons starting at 1 p.m. New skaters are encouraged to sign up for a lesson free of charge. Helmets and Skates provided (limited availability). Registration is required. 


HOPKINS-MINNETONKA WINTER-SPRING RECREATION REGISTRATION BEGINS DECEMBER 12

Registration for general winter-spring recreation programs  and ice skating lessons begins Tuesday, December 12, at 8 a.m., with registration for senior programs beginning Thursday, December 14, at 8 a.m. Visit minnetonka.gov/register to browse program options and choose from an array of activities, including kids’ programs, tennis lessons, craft opportunities and athletic leagues. Register online at minnetonkamn.gov/register or call between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Alarm Registration and Renewals Due By December 31

Individuals and businesses are required to register their burglar and fire alarm systems. This annual registration allows the police and fire departments to keep more up-to-date records on alarm holders and important keyholder information. The fee is $30 for fire alarm systems and $30 for police alarm systems (panic, burglary, duress, medical, holdup). New to Hopkins? Need to renew your alarm system registration? Fill out the online Alarm User Permit form or call City Hall at 952-548-6300 for a paper copy of the application. Permits are required to be renewed annually before December 31. Buy a Brick This Holiday Season

Leave a lasting impression in Clock Tower Plaza! The “Buy a Brick” program gives you an opportunity to be a special part of Hopkins history. Individuals, families, businesses, and organizations can purchase bricks with their names imprinted that will be placed in the Plaza at the southwest corner of 9th and Mainstreet. Special symbols are now available to honor someone by their interests or hobbies. Bricks are a great gift idea for family and friends, and are a special way to recognize your Hopkins heritage.
