Spring Bulk Item Drop-Off Event is May 6 and 7

Looking to get rid of bulky items that are just taking up space in your home or garage? Bring your items to the bulk item drop-off Friday, May 6, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
 
For a $20 fee, plus taxes, you can drop off one appliance and up to three cubic yards worth of trash (the equivalent of one pick-up truck load). Payment will be processed by card at the event. Debit cards, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover are all accepted. Find more information about the drop-off event. 


Hennepin County Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Event is May 6 and 7

Drop-off your household hazardous waste at the Hennepin County collection event on Friday, May 6, and Saturday, May 7. Bring your items to Minnetonka Public Works (11522 Minnetonka Boulevard) between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. either day. Native Landscaping Demonstration Garden
Planting is May 14

The City of Hopkins, with grant funding from the Nine Mile Creek Watershed District, will be planting a Native Landscaping Demonstration Garden in Valley Park on May 14 from 9 to 11 a.m. during the Community Garden Kick-Off event. The site location will be near the stream and trail next to the community garden plots. Residents are encouraged to drop-by to see how similar plants can be used in their own yards. Learn more about the Native Landscaping Demonstration Garden.


Mainstreet Day is May 21

Mainstreet Day, the annual arts and craft festival sponsored by JCI Hopkins, will be held Saturday, May 21, on Mainstreet in downtown Hopkins. The event is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature more than 140 participating arts and craft vendors offer a variety of homemade items, including jewelry, woodworking, photography and fine art, clothing, toys, garden decor and more. JCI Hopkins reinvests all proceeds from Mainstreet Day back into the Hopkins community to support programs and projects such as Bowling with the Bunny, Little Free Libraries and the Cops 'N Kids Shopping Program. Find more information about Mainstreet Day. 


Police Department Open House and Kick-Off
to Summer Safety Event is May 21

The Hopkins Police Department is holding an open house and Kick-Off to Summer Safety event on Saturday, May 21, from 11 a .m. to 2 p.m., at the police department, 1010 First Street S. This free, family-friendly event will feature water, bike, fire and internet safety tips, a bike raffle and bike tune-ups, a ninja obstacle course and more. 


2021 Drinking Water Report 

The City of Hopkins has issued the results of monitoring done on its drinking water for the period from January 1 to December 31, 2021. The purpose of this report is to advance consumers’ understanding of drinking water and heighten awareness of the need to protect precious water resources. View the full 2021 Drinking Water Report.
