Cops and Community Bingo is April 24

The Hopkins Police Department is hosting Cops and Community Bingo on Sunday, April 24, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Hopkins Activity Center. For $20, play 10 games and help support the Hopkins Crime Prevention Fund and Youth Outreach.

Excelsior Boulevard Closure Scheduled to Begin April 25

Excelsior Boulevard is scheduled to close to eastbound traffic at the railroad crossing east of Highway 169 on Monday, April 25, for METRO Green Line Extension construction. This closure is expected to last until the fall while crews advance light rail bridge construction over the roadway. Traffic will be routed via Highway 169, Highway 7, and Blake Road to connect back to Excelsior Boulevard on the east side of the closure. Zoning Regulations Update Open House is April 26

The City of Hopkins is holding a Zoning Regulations Update Open House on Tuesday, April 26, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Hopkins Pavilion. There will be a formal presentation at 6:30 p.m., with time for discussion and questions both before and after. A public review draft of the zoning regulations (PDF) and online comment form are also available on the Zoning Regulations Update Project webpage.

Arbor Day Celebration is April 29

Join the City of Hopkins for tree planting at Valley Park on Friday, April 29, at 2 p.m. in celebration of Arbor Day. Light refreshments will be served.

Spring Bulk Item Drop-Off Event is May 6 and 7

Looking to get rid of bulky items that are just taking up space in your home or garage? Bring your items to the bulk item drop-off Friday, May 6, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday, May 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For a $20 fee, plus taxes, you can drop off one appliance and up to three cubic yards worth of trash (the equivalent of one pick-up truck load). Payment will be processed by card at the event. Debit cards, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover are all accepted. Find more information about the drop-off event.
