Understanding Gun Violence in Minnesota

Wednesday, August 18, 7 to 8 p.m.

As we see the rise in gun violence in the Twin Cities and all of Minnesota, Protect Minnesota staff will present the facts and explore the root causes. They will also speak about initiatives aimed at saving lives from gun violence. What can all of us do to promote positive change?

Protect Minnesota is the only independent, state-based gun violence prevention non-profit in Minnesota. All are invited to hear their research and initiatives. How can we all help promote a culture of health and safety?

The community forum is free and open to all. Gethsemane Lutheran Church is located at 715 Minnetonka Mills Road in Hopkins.

The Hopkins Race and Equity Initiative (HREI) is a collaborative effort creating opportunities to increase awareness and understanding of race, equity and diversity and promoting a sense of community that welcomes and values all residents. Members include:

  • The City of Hopkins
  • The Gethsemane Lutheran Church
  • The Hopkins Public Schools
  • The Hopkins Police Department
