Deadline to Provide Feedback on Proposed Rental Inspection Program Revisions is June 28

The City is seeking feedback on proposed revisions to the Rental Inspections Program. The main goals of the program revisions include:

  • Finding ways to improve efficiencies and equity 
  • Utilizing the rental program as a platform to build upon the City's current outreach efforts to meet citywide renter engagement and participation goals.

Community input is an important part of this revision process. Draft documents are available for public review on the City website.

Interested parties are encouraged to provide comments and feedback through a brief, five-question survey by Monday, June 28, here.


Apply to be a MN GreenCorps Member by June 29

The City of Hopkins is hosting a MN GreenCorps AmeriCorps member this September 2021 to August 2022. Improve the environment, serve your community and gain professional experience. Learn more an apply by June 29 here.


325 Blake Road Public Meetings are June 30, July 7

Minnehaha Creek Watershed District (MCWD) and the City of Hopkins are partnering on the restoration and redevelopment of the property at 325 Blake Road (former Cold Storage site). MCWD will retain approximately 5 acres of the 17 acre site and is continuing to plan improvements for the natural space along Minnehaha Creek, which will connect the surrounding neighborhood to the Minnehaha Creek Greenway trail system, light rail transit, and regional bike trail. Join us at a public meeting, where we will share early design ideas for the natural space, and seek the community’s ideas about this work.

Save the Date: National Night Out is August 3

Celebrate the 38th annual National Night Out against crime and drugs with your neighbors on Tuesday, August 3. From 5:30 to 9 p.m., neighborhoods throughout Hopkins and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors. Many Hopkins neighborhoods will be hosting special events block parties, cookouts, ice cream socials, potlucks and games. Register your neighborhood celebration online here.
