Connections - A Weekly Update from the City of Hopkins

Hopkins Apartments (formerly Hopkins Cinema Flats) Update

The Beard Group, Inc. has informed the City of Hopkins that they have revised their plans and wish to reactivate their concept plan review application to redevelop the Hopkins Cinema 6 Theatre property located at 1118 Main Street. Similar to their previous proposal, the revised Hopkins Apartments (formerly Hopkins Cinema Flats) development would replace the existing theatre with a 4-story mixed use commercial and residential building.

Provide feedback  by submitting concept plan comments or questions to the developer through their Hopkins Apartments (formerly Hopkins Cinema Flats) website at hopkinsapartments.com by Sunday, March 14. Community members who wish to address comments to the City can do so through this online form here.

All comments will be compiled and presented to the City when it reviews the concept plan items at the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting on Tuesday, March 23 and City Council meeting which takes place Tuesday, March 16. More information on the Hopkins Apartments project is available here.

Rain Barrel Sales Happening Now

Spring is upon us, which brings the potential for lots of rain. Consider the purchase of a rain barrel this spring. Simply place the barrel around your home to catch chlorine-free water as it pours from your downspouts (water that would have otherwise made its way into storm sewers only to be wasted). Hopkins residents may use promo code "hopkins20" at check out to receive $20 off your purchase. More information on rain barrels and the link to purchase your own is available here.
