Hopkins-Minnetonka Winter-Spring Recreation Registration Begins December 15

Registration for a wide array of safe winter-spring recreation programming begins Tuesday, December 15, at 8 a.m. Please note that all programs are subject to change or cancellation based on the state's response to the ongoing pandemic. Full refunds will be given if a recreation program must be cancelled for the health and safety of the community. Browse programs and register online here.

Outdoor Ice Rinks Open December 19

Weather permitting, outdoor ice skating rinks will open for the season on Saturday, December 19. The rinks will be maintained and open during regular hours of operation, however, all Hopkins and Minnetonka warming houses will remain closed during the 2020-2021 season. Park ambassadors will frequent rinks throughout the season to monitor ice conditions and usage. Additional outdoor benches and picnic tables have been added for public use. Help with Electric Bills for Small Business Xcel Customers

Xcel Energy is committed to helping businesses get back on their feet after being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and a new program will provide some relief to businesses that were hard hit. Small businesses that saw an electric load decrease of 25 percent or more as a direct result of the pandemic may qualify for a 25 percent discount on the base energy and demand charges on their Xcel Energy electric bill from January 1 through August 31, 2021. To find out more and apply for the discount, businesses can contact their Xcel Energy account manager or fill out the interest form on Xcel's website here.
