The City Council will be holding an emergency meeting on Wednesday, May 27, at 4 p.m., to consider adopting a resolution that will authorize the granting of regulatory flexibility to local businesses.
On May 20, 2020, Governor Walz issued Executive Order 20-56 outlining plans for bars and restaurants to open on June 1 for outdoors service, so long as certain conditions, including social distancing, are maintained to prevent the spread of COVID-19. City staff have received requests for temporary outdoor seating as part of the order.
The proposed resolution will allow staff some flexibility in granting temporary outdoor seating areas. Specific requests from businesses will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
The public may watch the meeting live on Comcast cable channel 16 or by streaming online at www.hopkinsmn.com/349/Watch-Meetings-Live-On-Demand.
