Free Yard Waste Pick-Up is April 20-30

Yard waste will be collected for free on your regular garbage day from April 20-30. You do not need to call to schedule this pickup. Bagged yard waste should be placed at your normal collection site at least four feet away from your garbage and recycling containers. More information on yard waste pick-up is available here.

City Council to Hold Virtual Meeting April 21

To limit the spread of coronavirus, the City Council will be holding their April 21 meeting virtually. City staff and officials will join via a GoToMeeting video conference. Residents can watch the meeting live online or on Hopkins municipal cable channel 16, and participate remotely. If you would like to provide comment or ask a question during the meeting, you are encouraged to provide your question/comment prior to the meeting through this online form or via phone at 952-548-6302 by noon on April 21. Hydrant Flushing Continues Through May 1

Don't be alarmed if your water is discolored: Hopkins Public Works utility crews will be flushing fire hydrants throughout the community through May 1. Residents are cautioned against doing laundry - particularly light colored items - while crews are in the neighborhood.

Hydrant Flushing Schedule:

April 20-24: Hydrants south of Excelsior Boulevard and west of Highway 169
April 27-May 1: Hydrants east of Highway 169

If water is still discolored once crews leave, residents should run the cold water until it runs clear. More information is available here.

Garden Plots Still Available for Purchase

The City of Hopkins provides a community garden site area in Valley Park in the Westbrooke/Nine Mile Creek area where residents can lease a 20-foot by 20-foot garden plot. There are still plots available for purchase for the 2020 gardening season. Learn more and purchase a garden plot online here.
