A major spring snow storm is predicted for the Hopkins area and weather radar confirms that icy conditions and heavy snow is likely on the way. Fortunately, because it is mid-April, the impact of even a heavy snow accumulation will be short-lived. For this reason, the City will not be tagging vehicles or towing them from the streets.
However, the City requests that you do not park your vehicle on the street Saturday, April 14, or Sunday, April 15, while city plows are still out. This will be heavy snow and if your vehicle is plowed in, it will be very difficult to dig it out.
There are several locations to park your vehicle before this storm hits, including, Municipal lot 300, just north of Downtown park on 9th Avenue, the Maetzold Field parking lot, the City parking lot at the intersection of 9th Avenue S and Westbrook Way, and the parking area at the far east end of 8th Street S near Valley Park.
Again, please don’t park your vehicle on the street until the storm has passed and the final plowing is done.
