[ARCHIVED] Shady Oak Beach Opens for Season June 7

Shady Oak Beach opens for the 2019 season on Friday, June 7. The beach is open June 7 through July 31, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., (10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on July 4), and August 1 through 18, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., weather dependent.

Safety Restrictions

Due to historic snow melt this year, as well as recent heavy rainfall, the water level at Shady Oak Lake has risen considerably. The City is currently pumping and redirecting the water, however, the effects of that process will not be seen immediately.

The beach will open as planned, but with some location and activity restrictions for safety purposes:

  • The high dive and dock will be closed.
  • All sand is under water.
  • Water access will be limited to certain entry points.

Beach Season Passes

Beach season passes are available for those wanting to enjoy unlimited entry into the beach at great rates.
