Due to weather, the opening of the brush and yard waste drop-off site has been delayed to Saturday, April 20, 2019, weather permitting.

Hopkins residents with City garbage service may drop off their brush and yard waste at the free drop-off site.

From April Through Mid-October

  • Mondays, 2 to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesdays, 2 to 7 p.m.
  • Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

From Mid-October Through November

  • Mondays, 1 to 5 p.m.
  • Wednesdays, 1 to 5 p.m.
  • Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The site is closed Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day and Veterans Day.

Free for Hopkins residential garbage customers. You will need to show a valid driver's license, MN ID or current paid utility bill to prove eligibility.

Residents will need to unload their materials at the site, and take plastic bags home with them.

Accepted Items

  • Grass clippings
  • Leaves with twig stems not longer than 4 inches
  • Similar garden waste
  • Soft, pliable vines (yard waste)
  • Tree limbs
  • Twigs, branches and woody vines up to 6 inches in diameter and 15 feet long

Not Accepted Items

  • Plastic bags
  • Animal feces
  • Dirt
  • Garden products
  • Logs or lumber
  • Material from contractors or commercial firms
  • Sod waste
  • Stump grindings
