2023 Downtown Parking Updates
Several construction projects are happening this spring/summer in the area of Mainstreet and 11th and 12th Avenues S.
The City is aware of the parking challenges that this will create for residents and businesses and will be actively monitoring the situation throughout the season.
Construction Projects
Vista 44
Vista 44 is a multifamily apartment building on a one acre portion of the parking lot off of 1st Street S between 12th and 13th Avenues S. The project has begun and will be under construction throughout the summer and fall. There will be temporary closures of the adjacent roadways for utility connections. All closures will have advanced signage and affect properties will be notified prior to any closures.
Ovation Apartments
Demolition of the former Hopkins Mann Cinema movie theater at 1118 Mainstreet to make way for Ovation Apartments is anticipated to begin in late spring/early summer. Construction will last all season. Once demolition begins, the sidewalk on the south side of Mainstreet and on 12th Avenue will be closed for the duration of construction. The parking lane adjacent to the existing theater will also be closed.
2023 Street and Utility Improvement Project
The City of Hopkins 2023 Street and Utility Improvement Project has begun. There will be temporary parking restrictions on each street for needed work. Construction should last close to a month. Sign-up for project alerts for the Street and Utility Improvement Project at www.Hopkins-2023.com.
