The City has compiled a list of resources to help Hopkins residents navigate the impact of COVID-19.

Food support and assistance
- ICA Foodshelf
The ICA Foodshelf is now distributing food through a “drive-up” model. - Hopkins Public Schools
Hopkins Public Schools’ nutrition and transportation departments are teaming up to provide free meals to students through April 3. - Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is taking precautions to continue meal delivery while protecting volunteers and meal recipients. - ResourceWest

Second Harvest Heartland can help you locate emergency food services in your community. - Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
SNAP provides nutrition assistance to low-income individuals and families and provides economic benefits to communities.
Health care support

- Senior LinkAge Line®
The Senior LinkAge Line® is a free service that connects older Minnesotans and their families with the help they need.
Rental assistance
If you live in Hennepin County and have lost income due to COVID-19, help may be available to you to cover current and past due housing costs such as rent, mortgage payments and utilities. Hennepin County is offering emergency housing help or households with total income up to 300 percent of the Federal Poverty Guideline (about $46,500 for a household with three people).
You can apply and receive funding multiple times. If you have applied for help before, even if you were denied, apply again.
Eligible applicants are strongly encouraged to apply as soon as possible. Learn more and start your application at https://www.hennepin.us/housing-help.
The State of Minnesota is also offering emergency housing assistance, however, more funding is available to low-income households living in Hennepin County. Hennepin County residents are strongly encouraged to first visit www.hennepin.us/housing-help to learn which program will best meet your needs.
Utilities
- Xcel Energy and Centerpoint Energy have both suspended service disconnections until further notice.
- Emergency Assistance Program
Minnesota’s Emergency Assistance Progra, helps pay home heating costs and furnace repairs for income-qualified households. - Hennepin County’s Emergency Assistance Program
Hennepin County’s Emergency Assistance Program provides short-term aid to Hennepin County residents who are in a financial crisis that poses a direct threat to their physical health or safety.
Please remember to only flush toilet paper to avoid sewer backups. Do not flush wipes (even wipes marketed as “flushable”), napkins, paper towels or other sanitary items.

- Centurylink
Centurylink will not suspend home and business service for 60 days due to financial hardships related to coronavirus. - Comcast Xfinity
Comcast Xfinity is offering billing flexibility and 60-day complimentary internet services to low-income families in its service area.
Eviction freeze
On March 23, 2020, Governor Walz signed Emergency Executive Order 20-14 suspending evictions and writs of recovery for the term of the COVID-19 peacetime emergency. This Executive Order keeps people stably housed and prevents displacement during this health emergency.

Hopkins restaurants with takeout or delivery
Our local restaurants and breweries need your support during this challenging time. Restaurants and bars are closed for dining-in, but many remain open for takeout and delivery. View the list of the local restaurants and breweries that are open for business (with the exception of fast food restaurants).
You can still enjoy a restaurant meal, while practicing social distancing. Please show them your support!
