Help Keep Fire Hydrants ClearPOSTED 12/14/10
Many fire hydrants are currently covered after all the recent snow. If you have a hydrant on your block, please help keep Hopkins safe by shoveling it out. If possible, hydrants should be cleared four feet on each side to give the Fire Department the fastest and best access. The property you save may be your own!
Part of the mission of the Hopkins Fire Department is to educate residents on fire safety issues. Browse the following resources and plan to attend the annual Fire Department Open House for valuable tips on fire safety in Hopkins.
Make sure that everyone knows the sound of the smoke alarm and what to do if a fire occurs. Regularly practice your home fire escape plan. Know two ways out of every room and have a pre-arranged meeting place outside. Once out, stay out and call the Fire Department (911) from a neighbor's home.
