It's in the Bag is a Twin Cities based plastic bag recycling program created by SUPERVALU in conjunction with local non profits Merrick, Inc., Minnesota Waste Wise and Winchester-Va based Trex Company. The collaborative effort is also supported by the American Plastics Council, Byerly's, Cub Foods, GreenGuardian.com, Hennepin County, Kowalski's Market, Lunds, The Minnesota Grocer's Education Foundation, Pioneer Press, Star Tribune and Target Corporation. Consumers may drop off clean, dry empty plastic bags in specially-designed It's in the Bag collection bins found at collection points throughout the metropolitan area. To streamline the process, consumers should inspect bags before depositing into recycling containers, ensuring that all bags are clean and dry and that all receipts have been removed.
