Purchasing Yard Waste Stickers

Stickers are sold for $2 each and must be affixed to each bag as payment for pick up.

Make sure stickers face the street or alley and are visible to the drivers.

Stickers may be purchased in person at City Hall or the Public Works building. To have stickers sent to you in the mail you can call 952-939-1382 and the cost will be placed on your utility bill (minimum of 10 stickers).

Yard waste is collected the same day as regular refuse. The following fees are charged:

  • FREE from April 21 - May 8
  • $2.00/bag after May 8

Yard Waste Pick Up Guidelines

  • Yard Waste is defined as: Leaves with twig stems no longer than 4 inches, grass clippings, and similar garden waste.
  • Yard waste must be bagged. Maximum size bag – 55-gallon, Maximum weight – 40 lbs.
  • Place yard waste at the normal refuse collection site at least 4 feet away from your refuse & recycling containers.
  • Items NOT accepted include: animal feces (please clean up after pets before raking your lawn), branches, vines, long twigs, sod waste, and shrub clippings.
  • NO garden products such as melons, pumpkins, squash, potatoes, apples, tomatoes, etc. should be placed in yard waste bags. Place unused garden products, such as these, into your regular refuse container.

 

Brush Pick-Up

Brush Pick Up (Spring 2008)

Brush is collected every Tuesday, weather permitting (excluding holidays) for residential refuse customers in Hopkins. You must schedule a pick-up by calling 952-939-1382 before 2:00 pm on Monday.

Brush will be collected FREE from April 22 – May 6, 2008. On all other Tuesdays, the following fees are charged:

  • 0 – 5 cu. Yds $8
  • 5 – 17 cu. Yds $20
  • 18 cu. Yd truckload $30

Brush Pick Up Guidelines

  • Stack brush in a neat pile on the boulevard, not in the street (NO alley pick-up), with butt ends all one way, parallel to the street.
  • Keep brush at least 5 feet away from overhead wires, fences, refuse containers, parked cars, etc.
  • DO NOT put brush in your refuse containers.
  • Only brush which is generated on Hopkins’ residential properties, will be picked up.
  • Brush is defined as tree limbs, twigs, and branches up to a maximum of 6-inches in diameter and 15 feet in length. No logs or lumber are accepted.
