The City of Hopkins offers residents in the City Service Area a bulk item pick up service. Items are collected on Thursdays. Residents should call Public Works at 952-939-1382 before 2:00 pm on Wednesday to schedule a Thursday bulk item collection.
How much does it cost?
- $25.00 plus tax for each bulk item collected.
- $25.00 plus tax for each 3/4 cubic yard of loose volume material.
How does it work?
Bulk items are picked up throughout the year on a call in procedure. Call 952-939-1382 before 2:00 pm Wednesday to schedule your Thursday collection.
What items will the City pick up?
- Materials must fit into a rear load refuse truck or on a one-ton truck and must be transportable by two people
- Bagged or boxed items are not to exceed 35 lbs and items are not to exceed bag or box capacity
- The maximum item size accepted is 4' X 6'
- Place all items at your regular refuse collection location
- Keep all items at least four feet away from the refuse container
- Bulk items include furniture, sofas, stuffed chairs, mattresses, box springs, carpet rolls (3 ft long; 1 ft diameter), and appliances
Are there any items the City does not accept?
Major construction demolition materials are not accepted unless materials are within the 3 cubic yard maximum guideline.
