The Engineering Division is housed at City Hall. The division is responsible for assuring infrastructure development and construction projects exceed the highest standards and meet all regulations.

Property Line Information

Private Property Surveys can sometimes be found in the Property files located in the Hopkins Assessing office.

Copies of Half Sections and Plats are on file in the Hopkins Engineering office for a nominal fee.

Metal Detector Loan Out Program

The Hopkins Engineering Division offers residents of Hopkins the loan of a metal detector for locating property irons. Use is normally limited to overnight if longer use is required please check with staff on availability.

Deposit required for loan of equipment is a copy of a Minnesota ID and a $100 check or cash deposit at time of request.

Metal Detector may be reserved by calling the Engineering Division, but be advised that due to increased seasonal demands exact dates and times of returns are hard to determine.
