The Hopkins Police Department has been involved in the Crime Free Multi-Housing Program since 1994. The program teaches rental property owners and managers how to keep illegal activity off of their property. The program delivers two important messages:

  • effective property management can have a major impact on the health of a community and
  • there are accessible, legitimate techniques that can be used to stop the spread of illegal activity on rental property

The program provides training to property owners and managers on tenant screening, use of the crime free/drug free lease addendum, building and property security, and Neighborhood Watch.
