Project ALERT is an alcohol, tobacco and drug prevention program taught to 5th grade students in the Hopkins School District 270. There are also three booster lessons that are taught to the 6th grade students. The drug prevention program is a collaborative effort by the Hopkins Police Services Liaison and the elementary school counselors.
Project ALERT helps young people identify and resist the pressures that lead to drug experimentation. The program teaches students the skills needed to build their confidence in making positive health and life choices.
