Public Police Records

The Hopkins Police Department posts weekly public information reports in accordance with the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act. Reports are posted on this website by noon each Thursday.

Requesting Police Department Records

Requests for specific reports must be made to the police records staff. Please fill out the Data Request Form and submit it to us via:

  • Email at, or
  • Fax at 952-939-1375, or
  • In person at the police records office Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. located at 1010 1st St S, Hopkins MN.

If requesting a report containing private data, please also submit a copy of your identification.

Getting Fingerprinted

Fingerprints for employment, adoption and naturalization purposes are taken by a public service officer for Hopkins residents or those working in Hopkins. The fee for fingerprints is $15 per card. To schedule an appointment, call 952-938-8885.

Report Copies If Requestor is the subject of the report or representative of the subject – No charge.

If Requester is not the subject of the report – $.25 per copy
Summary Data Report $5.00 per report
Special Report $25.00 minimum per report

More than 100 pages and 15 minutes or longer of staff time – actual costs will be billed
Clearance Letters $5.00 per letter
Fingerprint Cards $15.00 per card
Copy of Audio/Video Recordings $5.00 per CD
Copy of Photographs $5.00 per CD
