Youth Summer Sports Camps by Skyhawks

The Hopkins Pavilion is home to several youth summer sports camps from the nationwide organization Skyhawks.

Mini Hawk: T-Ball, Basketball & Soccer (Ages 4-6)

Boy throws ball into basketball hoopsThis multi-sport program was developed to give 4 to 6 year-olds a positive first step into athletics. T-ball, basketball, and soccer are taught in a safe, structured environment filled with encouragement & fun. Through games and activities campers will explore balance, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace.

All participants receive a t-shirt and a merit award.

The participant-to-coach ratio is approximately 8:1.

Participants should bring appropriate clothing, two snacks, a water bottle, running shoes, and sunscreen.

Multi Sport: Baseball, Basketball & Soccer (Ages 6-8)

Boy fields baseballSkyhawks offers a half day format that exposes the young athlete to soccer, baseball, and basketball. This program focuses on teaching the fundamentals in a fun and creative atmosphere. The program format will allow beginning athletes to experience sport specific instruction in a non-competitive setting.

All participants receive a t-shirt and a merit award.

The participant-to-coach ratio is approximately 10:1.

Participants should bring appropriate clothing, two snacks, a water bottle, running shoes, and sunscreen.

SNAG Golf (Ages 5-8)

Campers will learn the fundamentals of swinging, putting, and body positioning. Skyhawks has adopted the SNAG (Starting New at Golf) system to its curriculum. SNAG is specifically designed for the entry-level player. SNAG simplifies instruction so that young players can make an easy & effective transition onto the golf course. All equipment provided.

All participants receive a t-shirt and a merit award.

Track and Field (Ages 7–12)

Skyhawks Track & Field was developed to introduce young athletes to this sport rich in tradition and history. These programs combine technical development and fundamental techniques with safety and a major focus on fun! Using special equipment, our exercises, and drills will prepare athletes for a future in cross-country, track and field events, distance running, while inspiring a love for running and being active. The fundamentals of body positioning, stride, proper stretching, and cool-down techniques are all covered in this unique program. Participants will put it all together for one fun-filled day at the end of the week at the Skyhawks track meet!

All participants receive a t-shirt and a merit award.

The participant-to-coach ratio is approximately 14:1.

Game Camp: Capture the Flag, Dodgeball & Kickball (Ages 7-12)

You know it from playgrounds, backyards and family get-togethers.  We take all the traditional aspects of these games and put a Skyhawks spin on it. Your young athlete will learn strategy in addition to the rules of the games while we incorporate sportsmanship and teamwork into this action packed camp. At the end of week participants will play for the Skyhawks Flag. Bring your friends or come and make new ones in this unique and fast-paced program.

Tiny Hawk Soccer (Parent & Me)

Skyhawks camp for 3 and 4 year olds helps children fine-tune their motor skills in soccer. No pressure, just lots of fun while these little athletes learn the basics through unique Skyhawks games. Parents work with our coaching staff to teach these young children. Our staff is committed to creating a positive introduction to sports. 

All participants receive a merit award.

Flag Football (Ages 5–12)

Skyhawks flag football is the perfect introduction to America’s Game or for those who want to brush up on their skills preparing for league play. Through our ‘skill of the day’ campers will learn skills on both sides of the ball including the core components of passing, catching, and de-flagging or defensive positioning – all presented in a fun & positive environment. The week ends with the Skyhawks Sports Bowl, giving participants a chance to showcase their skills on the gridiron! All participants receive a t-shirt and a merit award .The participant-to-coach ratio is approximately 14:1. Participants should bring appropriate clothing, two snacks, a water bottle, running shoes, and sunscreen.
