Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES), operator of the regional wastewater collection and treatment system, is constructing new regional sanitary sewer facilities in Hopkins. MCESÂ intends to construct a new lift station in Hopkins and a new sanitary sewer force main in Hopkins, St. Louis Park, and Minneapolis. The Hopkins segment of the new sewer is planned to run along Lake Street; from Tyler Avenue on the west to Texas Avenue on the east. This segment of sewer will connect to the new sewer that will cross Minnehaha Creek. Construction of the new lift station and the rest of the new sewer in Hopkins is expected to occur over the next few years. The proposed location of the new lift station is Oakes Park.
