Support Services Specialist—Police

The City of Hopkins is hiring a full-time regular Support Service Specialist Position in the Police Department. Provides support services relating to the police department and insures the prompt and accurate processing of police records.

 

Building Inspector

The City of Hopkins is accepting applications for a full-time Building Inspector. Under the general supervision of the Building Official, this position performs professional and technical work in the review and approval of building plans, as well as conducting inspections to insure that the State Building Code, City’s Building Code and other related codes, laws and standards, are met. Deadline: May 11, 2016

Additional Information

Minimum qualifications include:

  • one year prior municipal experience in building code enforcement
  • knowledge of State construction codes and practices

Desired qualifications include:

  • MN Building Official Certification
  • ICC building inspector
  • ICC plans examiner
  • Building Inspection Technology Certificate

Hiring salary range: $26.58 - $35.72/hour, depending on qualifications, excellent fringe benefits.

Maintenance Worker II – Water & Sewer

The City of Hopkins is hiring a full-time regular Maintenance Worker II in the Water and Sewer Division. Position performs routine, emergency and a variety of skilled maintenance operations/repairs within the Water & Sewer division. Employee must have the ability to return to the Hopkins Public Works site from their primary residence within 30 minutes from being called while performing standby duties or during an emergency. 

 

Seasonal Streets, Parks, Forestry and Water & Sewer Workers

The City of Hopkins is hiring Seasonal Workers in the Streets, Parks, Forestry and Water & Sewer divisions. Applicants must be 18 years or older and have a valid driver’s license.

Additional Information

  • Primary Streets duties include street patching & painting, central business district cleaned up, yard waste bag pick up and assisting with concrete repairs.
  • Primary Parks duties include mowing, trimming, general clean up, painting, etc.
  • Forestry duties include brush pick up, assisting in removal, caring for, and planting of trees.
  • Water/Sewer duties include assisting staff in daily duties.

Wage rate: $12.00 - $13.50/hour, depending upon qualifications.

Activity Center Custodial/Event Supervisor

This is a part time position, approximately ten hours per week.  Performs building custodial duties each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings as well as occasional weekends as assigned.

Additional Information

Attendant is responsible for opening and closing of the Activity Center, greeting and assisting guests, building supervision, and event set-up and take-down as well as minor custodial duties (sweeping and mopping). See full job description.

Wage:  $11/hour to start.

Part-Time Arts Center Custodian

The Hopkins Center for the Arts is accepting applications for a part time Arts Center Custodian. Responsibilities include overseeing the orderly operation of Arts Center, opening and closing the building, working with customers and visitors, setting rooms for events and custodial duties. $10-11/hr DOQ. Open until filled.

Additional Information

The Hopkins Center for the Arts is open Monday–Saturday from 8am–8pm, and Sundays from noon–5pm. Often the building is open for extended hours due to special events.

We are looking for someone to primarily work weekends and evenings and to be on call for additional shifts.

This is a very hands-on position, requiring the ability and willingness to move tables and chairs, clean restrooms, empty trash, vacuum, and various other duties relating to building and event needs. The position represents Hopkins Center for the Arts to the public so a professional, customer service oriented manner is required.

Hours: 6 -- 20 hours per week depending on event needs.
