Hopkins is a dynamic community of over 17,000 residents located just 13 minutes west of the Twin Cities. Through education, inspiration, involvement and communication, the City Council, City Staff, members of the Boards and Commissions, the business district and the neighborhood associations are committed to enhancing the quality of life in Hopkins.

Minnesota state law requires that "a city or county with a population of more than 15,000 must annually notify its residents of the positions and base salaries of its three highest-paid employees." For the City of Hopkins, titles and salaries as of January 1, 2008 are: City Manager - $109,678; Public Works Director - $101,462; and Police Chief - $101,462. Publication Date: March 7, 2008.
