Medical Equipment Loan

Goodwill Industries administers the "Share A Chair" program which loans wheelchairs, walkers, etc., free of charge, for up to 6 months. All are eligible. Call 651-379-5922. Goodwill also accepts your used medical equipment. Drop donations off at the Hopkins store located at 1025 Hill St, 952-935-2760.

Memorials & Gifts to Share

Consider remembering the Hopkins Activity Center when making a donation or updating a will. Donations made be made in memory of a loved one or friend, given in honor of a special celebration or bequeathed in a will. All contributions will be placed in Gifts To Share or designated to a specific program.

NAPS (Nutritional Assistance Program for Seniors)

A free food for low-income senior adults. To qualify you must register in advance, be over 60 years of age, a resident of the State of Minnesota and meet federal income guidelines. Food is distributed the 1st Wednesday of every month at the Hopkins Family Resource Center. Call 651-484-8241 for more information.

Save It

Join us in gathering items that can be used by community groups so others might benefit from the recycled item's value. Hopkins Activity Center accepts the following items and distributes them to area organizations: beverage can tabs, used greeting cards (must have the entire card), large print books, puzzles, eye glasses, hearing aids, acrylic yarn, 100% wool cloth, handled grocery bags, cotton/polyester cloth, plus ribbon, rick-rack, buttons, snaps, Velcro, etc. for doll clothes, doll clothes patterns, baby dolls, postage stamps, General Mills products "Boxtops for Education," labels, Campbell's products "Labels for Education," Kemps products "Give 'Em Five," labels, cell phones.

Senior Citizen Property Tax Deferral Program

Persons age 65 and older with household incomes less than $60,000. Call the Minnesota Department of Revenue at 651-556-6109 for guidelines.

Senior Linkage Line

A free statewide telephone information and assistance service that links older adults, their families, and other caregivers with resources and services. Information is available on transportation, housing, home health care, housekeeping, prescription drug assistance, caregiver support, home delivered meals, legal assistance, financial assistance and much more. Call 612-333-2433 from the Twin Cities area or 1-800-333-2433, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Do you know of a Hopkins Activity Center participant who is ill, needs encouragement, death in the family, or has a special occasion, honor, or anniversary coming up. Let the Hopkins Activity Center know so our Sunshine Greetings Volunteer can send them a card. Call 952-939-1333.
