325 Blake Road (Cold Storage site)

The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District purchased the 17-acre cold storage site in 2011 with the goal of implementing a regional stormwater improvement that would dramatically reduce the pollutant load of that portion of Minnehaha Creek. Once complete, the 3-4-acre stormwater facility will treat and manage over 260 acres of area run off.

Together with the City of Hopkins, the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District is undergoing a planning process to redevelop what will be the remaining 13-14 acreas of the site into a productive reuse of the property that benefits the community.

The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District recently issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to find a Master Developer to partner with on the redevelopment of the property. More information about the RFQ is available on the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District website.

The City, in partnership with the Watershed District and Hennepin County, has undergone a planning process to identify a vision for the site. This work has included the development of an early implementation plan and concept drawings that illustrate what might be possible on the site.
