For the past eight years, the Cities of Hopkins, Minnetonka, and Golden Valley along with School Districts 270 and 271 have sponsored a Caring Youth Recognition celebration, in conjunction with the February We Love Our Kids month activities.
The Caring Youth Recognition celebration recognizes the volunteer efforts of youth in Hopkins and surrounding communities. It honors young people who have demonstrated a caring attitude through volunteer efforts, without expectations of rewards or recognitions. The recognition is not about scholastic or athletic achievement.
Caring Youth nominations are open to students in grades 7 through 12 who live within the city limits of Hopkins, Golden Valley or Minnetonka or those who attend a school in Hopkins School District 270 or Minnetonka School District 271.
If your child fits the criteria, please contact the organization in which he/she volunteers and tell them about the Caring Youth Recognition. Have them call Cheryl at 763-593-8004 for more information or a nomination form. Family members cannot nominate a youth—nominations must be submitted an organization.
Nominations are due at the beginning of February each year.
