Issuance of Citations

1. Purpose

1.01 To designate City employees empowered to issue citations.

2. General Policy

2.01 The City Manager is authorized by Section 350.02 of the Hopkins City Code to designate City employees who may issue citations.
2.02 City employees responsible for performing the duties required by the following positions may issue citations in lieu of arrest or continued detention for violations of the Hopkins City Code:

  1. Patrol Officer
  2. Reserve Officer
  3. Public Service Officer
  4. Building Inspector
  5. Weed Inspector
  6. Zoning Administrator/Planner
  7. Sanitation Officer
  8. Fire Chief
  9. Fire Inspector
  10. Fire Marshal
  11. Parking Enforcement Officer
  12. Housing Inspector
  13. Mechanical Inspector
  14. Police Services Liaison
  15. Street Superintendent
  16. Senior Engineering Technician
  17. Building Official

2.03 Citations will be issued in accordance with Section 355 of the Hopkins City Code.
