Yard Waste
Yard waste bags must have a yard waste sticker affixed to be collected. Yard Waste stickers are $2.00 each and are available at Hopkins City Hall or Hopkins Public Works. Stickers may also be ordered by phone, 952-939-1382 (a minimum order of 10 stickers is required). Phone order charges will be placed on resident's utility bill. Yard waste bags will be picked up the same day as refuse. Bags must be placed at your refuse pick up location before 6:00 am and weigh no more than 40 pounds.
Brush
Brush pick-ups take place on Tuesdays. To schedule a brush pick-up call 952-939-1382 before 2:00 pm on Mondays. Brush should be placed on the boulevard, parallel to the street before 6:00 am. The pick up charge will be place on the resident's utility bill. Items must be no larger than 15 feet in length and 6 inches in diameter.

Location: 3100 Hopkins Crossroads (West side of County Road 73, approximately two blocks north of County Road 5)
Hours: Wednesdays, 2:00–7:00 pm and Saturdays, 9:00 am–3:00 pm
- Only brush and yard waste generated on Hopkins residential properties will be accepted.
- Driver licenses will be checked to ensure residency requirement.
- Residents must unload and debag their materials at the site.
- Brush/yard waste from yard maintenance companies will not be accepted.
- Logs or lumber will not be accepted. Brush/branches must be no larger than 15 feet in length and 6 inches in diameter
Alcohol Permits Required For Three City Parks
Beer and wine in non-glass containers are allowed with a permit in Central, Valley and Burnes parks. Alcohol use in all other City Parks is strictly prohibited.
Residents interested in obtaining an alcohol permit for a picnic shelter reservation should contact Recreation Services at 952-939-8203. For an alcohol permit not affiliated with a picnic shelter, residents should call Hopkins City Hall, 952-935-8474. Permits are $25 per requested date.
The Overpass Skate Park is now open and has been under construction. Come check out the equipment changes at the park! The park is open 9:00 am–dusk Saturdays, and 12:00 pm–dusk Sundays until June 12, weather permitting. Summer hours are Monday through Saturday 9:00 am–dusk, and noon to dusk Sundays. Admission is $6.00/day for residents, $8.00/day non-residents. The park is open to skaters 10 year of age and older. For more up to the moment information call 763-79SKATE.
Property owners and tenants are reminded to groom the grass and weeds on their property. If grass and weeds are higher than 10 inches, they are considered a nuisance and a citation will be issued. If City crews have to maintain your grass and weeds, the property owner will be charged for the service.
If you are planning a garage sale this summer, please remember that posting signs on utility poles, light poles, traffic light poles, stop sign poles and on the public right-of-way including boulevards and intersections, is strictly prohibited in the City of Hopkins.
City Code 800.03 states unauthorized signs placed on public property will be removed and destroyed. Signs cannot be posted on private property without obtaining prior permission from the property owner.

Mighty-Hawk SNAG Golf (ages 5-8) $109

SNAG is a new system for training beginning golfers using the coolest equipment around.
Skyhawks Lacrosse (ages 6-11) $99

This program is designed for girls and boys of all ages regardless of skill or ability. Requires special equipment. Equipment rental is an additional $20.
Skyhawks Soccer (ages 7-11) $99

Skyhawks Soccer program athletes learn fundamental skills of soccer through fun games and exercises.
Skyhawks Flag Football (ages 7-11) $99
August 7–11, 1:00 pm–4:00 pm
Flag Football is a great way to introduce your child to a sport rich in tradition.
One-Day Training Event For Women Interested In Becoming Firefighters
The Women's Fire Training Expo will take place on Saturday, June 10 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at the fire-training tower located in Edina near Braemar Park at 7525 Braemar Boulevard. There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is required. Sign up to take part in this event by going to www.edenprairie.org/firewomen/ and completing the registration form.
Women that live or work in Hopkins may attend and learn more about fire fighting and about how they could become a volunteer firefighter. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to meet women firefighters from these communities, hear about their experiences and get some hands-on experience.
This Training Event is specifically designed for women. Men that may be interested in learning more about becoming a volunteer fire fighter should contact their local fire department directly.
