The Hopkins City Council is responsible for enacting City legislation and defining policy for the operations of the City. The Council appoints a City Manager who is responsible for the administrative operations of the City government. The Council also serves as the Housing & Redevelopment Authority (HRA).
The Hopkins City Council consists of one mayor and four Council members. The Mayor is elected for a two-year term and the members are elected for four year terms. All members of the City Council are elected from the City at large. City Council meetings are typically held of the first and third Tuesday of the month at 7:30 pm. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers and are open to the public. Council meeting minutes, work session minutes and agendas are available at City Hall.
