Zoning & Planning Commission Minutes

April 28, 2015

A regular meeting of the Hopkins Zoning and Planning Commission was held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Hopkins City Hall.

Present were Commission Members Brian Hunke, Matt McNeil, Charles Firth, Andrew Fisher, Scott Kerssen and Emily Wallace-Jackson.  Mike Tait was absent.

Also present was staff member Nancy Anderson.

CALL TO ORDER

Mr. Kerssen called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Mr. Firth moved and Ms. Wallace-Jackson seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the March 31, 2015, regular meeting. The motion was approved unanimously. 

ITEM: ZONING AMENDMENT – INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT - RETAIL

Ms. Anderson reviewed the reasons for the amendment to the Industrial district.

The public hearing was opened at 6:40 p.m. No one appeared at the public hearing. Mr. Fisher moved and Mr. Hunke seconded a motion to close the public hearing. The motion was approved unanimously. The public hearing was closed at 6:41 p.m.

Mr. McNeil moved and Ms. Wallace-Jackson seconded a motion to adopt Resolution RZ15-9, recommending approval of zoning amendments in the Industrial zoning district. The motion was approved unanimously.

ITEM:  ZONING AMENDMENTS – PERFORMANCE STANDARDS/SITE PLAN

Ms. Anderson reviewed the reasons for the amendments to the performance standards and site plan approval.

The public hearing was opened at 6:45 p.m. No one appeared at the public hearing.  Mr. McNeil moved and Mr. Firth seconded a motion to close the public hearing. The motion was approved unanimously. The public hearing was closed at 6:46 p.m.

Mr. Firth moved and Mr. Hunke seconded a motion to adopt Resolution RZ15-8, recommending approval of zoning amendments to the performance standards. The motion was approved unanimously.

ADJOURN

Mr. McNeil moved and Mr. Firth seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion was approved unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 6:48 p.m.
