Present were Commission Members Doug Datta, Andrew Fisher, Andrea Naef, Aaron Kuznia, Jennifer Allard, Scott Kerssen and Charles Firth.
Also present was staff member Nancy Anderson.
Mr. Kuznia called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers.
Mr. Kerssen moved and Mr. Datta seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the January 31, 2012, regular meeting. The motion was approved unanimously.
Ms. Anderson reviewed the drive-through with the Commission. Dave Pettit, the owner of the Dairy Queen, appeared before the Commission. Mr. Pettit stated that in order to make the drive-through work he is purchasing the abutting retail area. The Commission discussed access points and traffic flow with the applicant. Mr. Pettit stated that Dairy Queen has data that there will be 10 percent increase in sales the first year and an additional 15 percent the second year with the addition of a drive-through. Mr. Pettit stated that the parking was important along 18th Avenue, and that he also wanted to move the sign to the retail site, which would be considered an off premise sign. The Commission looked favorably on the drive-through. Staff will continue to work with the applicant.
Mr. Firth moved and Ms. Naef seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion was approved unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 6:25 p.m.
