Zoning & Planning Commission Minutes

February 24, 2009

A regular meeting of the Hopkins Zoning and Planning Commission was held on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Hopkins City Hall.

Present were Commission Members Kyle Skiermont, Tom Jenny, Linda Flynn, Patrick Beddor, Kate Reilly, and Bob Hatlestad.  Kathy Newcomb was absent.

Also present were staff members Nancy Anderson and Kersten Elverum.

Call to Order

Mr. Skiermont called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm in the Council Chambers.

Approval of Minutes

Mr. Hatlestad moved and Mr. Jenny seconded the motion to approve the minutes of the January 27, 2009, regular meeting.  The motion was approved unanimously. 

Item: Marketplace & Main Development

Ms. Anderson stated that the Marketplace & Main development was changing from a condo development to an apartment development.

Andrea Nafe of 25 Seventh Avenue North appeared before the Commission.  Ms. Nafe was concerned with the development being changed to apartments.

Andrew Fisher of 33 Seventh Avenue North appeared before the Commission.  Mr. Fisher stated that the sales office was closed for the neighborhood meeting. 

Item: Mixed Use Zoning

The Commission started to review mixed use zoning for the future areas that will be designated in the new Comp Plan.

Adjourn

Mr. Hatlestad moved and Mr. Beddor seconded a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion was approved unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 pm.
