  • Cardmaking
    Volunteers recycle used greeting cards into new cards, which are then sold at the Activity Center to the general public.
  • Helping Hands
    Every stitch makes a difference! Join the group for a charity knit or crochet-along. 4-ply yarn donations needed.
  • Open Artists Studio
    Work on individual projects (paint, draw, crafts, etc.)
  • Preemie Blanket Bee
    Make comforting quilts for babies in our local hospital.
  • Primitive Rug Hooking

Educational opportunities

  • NORC Lectures for Lifetime Learners
    Lectures are held at Hopkins Activity Center. Lectures are co-sponsored by the Hopkins Activity Center, St. Louis Park Senior Program and NORC (Nurturing Our Retired Citizens).
  • Defensive Driving Class
    Defensive Driving courses for people 55-years old+, taught by Lieutenant John Nagel of the Minnesota State Patrol. Course includes lecture, films, and discussion. After participants complete the course, they are entitled to a 10%, 3-year discount on their auto insurance. Advance registration required.
    • 4-Hour Refresher Class (prerequisite: 8-hour class)

    • 8-Hour Class: This 8-hour class qualifies for the senior auto insurance discount.

    A one-hour fitness class formatted for seniors.
  • Enhance Fitness

    Evidence-based exercise program that focuses on stretching, flexibility, balance, low impact aerobics and strength training exercises. Instructor: Ben Walker.
  • Fitness Focus

    Participants receive a foot assessment, foot soak, trimming of toenails and maintenance of corns, calluses and ingrown nails. Provided by Happy Feet Foot Care, Inc. Call for appointment.
  • Hearing Screening & Hearing Aid Service

    Hearing testing and/or cleaning of hearing aids. Call for your 15 minute appointment.
  • Managing Your Meds
